Koreans typically spend W51,000 when they dine out once a week, according to a survey by NielsenIQ (US$1=W1,319).
The global consumer data researcher polled 4,000 Koreans from December to February.
Some 58 percent of the Koreans surveyed said that they eat out once a week, compared to only around 20 percent of the global average.
Some 42 percent said they eat out to celebrate special occasions like birthdays, and another 42 percent to hold business meetings.
But 41 percent do so just to find a simple meal.
