In response, Moon expressed his regret that the government and ruling party were neglecting public livelihood and disregarding unity. Lee emphasized that this general election was the last opportunity to recover the nation’s economy and winning the election is their historical mission.

Moon emphasized the significance of working together and combining their strengths. He believed that the key to success in elections was a combination of desperation and earnestness, and urged everyone to unite.

Lee promised to do his best to unite everyone as a melting pot, dissolve division and conflicts, and achieve victory in the upcoming general elections. This was conveyed by spokesperson Park Sung-joon.

Moon emphasized that the party is unified despite the recent factional conflicts over nominations.

“There are frames dividing pro-Moon and pro-Lee factions around the elections, but we are one, and unity is most important,” said Moon.

Lee had planned to visit Moon at the start of the previous month for New Year’s greetings, but had to cancel the meeting after being attacked. During a conversation outside Moon’s private residence, Moon examined the scar on Lee’s neck carefully.
