Supporters of former South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol gathered for rallies in Gwanghwamun and near his private home in Seocho-dong on April 12, the day after his return from the presidential residence.

A civic group led by far-right Pastor Jeon Kwang-hoon organized a rally at 1 p.m. in Gwanghwamun. By 2 p.m., around 10,000 people had gathered, according to unofficial police estimates.

The protest began in front of Gwanghwamun Square and stretched all the way to Seoul City Hall. Despite the rain, participants held umbrellas in one hand and waved the Taegeukgi, South Korea’s national flag, and the U.S. flag in the other. They chanted slogans like “Yoon Again” and “Fraudulent Impeachment.”

The rally’s host called for Yoon to return to his rightful place and reveal the truth behind what they claimed was an illegal impeachment. People Power Party lawmaker Cho Bae-sook also spoke, urging unity and saying, “The impeachment trial is not the end. The presidential election is still ahead, and we must unite.”

Another pro-Yoon group held a rally near Gyodae Station, close to Yoon’s residence in Seocho-dong, at 2 p.m. By 3 p.m., around 2,000 people had gathered, waving flags and holding signs reading “Yoon Again.” They chanted slogans like “Illegal Impeachment” and “Invalidate Impeachment” in support of the former president.
