A fire broke out at a restaurant inside the COEX Mall in Seoul’s Gangnam district on the morning of April 25.
The fire was reported at 11:06 a.m., according to fire department officials, who stated that casualties are still being confirmed.
Authorities mobilized 20 fire trucks and 71 firefighters to tackle the blaze. By 11:42 a.m., the initial fire suppression was completed.
Shoppers and visitors inside COEX evacuated the building as the fire spread.
As of 11:44 a.m., the lower lanes of Yeongdong-daero, from COEX to Samseong Station, have been closed to traffic.
