North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was spotted wearing a W14 million Swiss watch when he watched a short-range missile launch on July 25 (US$1=W1,210).
In footage from state TV, Kim is wearing a gold watch on his left wrist as he raises a pair of binoculars to observe the missile launch. Connoisseurs have identified it as an IWC Portofino Automatic.
Watch specialist Kim Chang-kyu told the Chosun Ilbo, "The bezel ratio and appearance of the lug on Kim Jong-un's watch matches a Portofino Automatic. The location of the date window and shape of the logo are also identical."
He added it is a rare unisex watch and costs around 11,700 Swiss francs.
