SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won’s second daughter, Min-jeong, is getting married this fall, and her wedding photos have sparked public interest.

On May 17, a wedding company’s website recently released a photoshoot of Min-jeong and her fiancé, which has been widely shared online. Industry insiders have revealed that Min-jeong will marry a Chinese-American businessman at the Grand Walkerhill Seoul this October.

The Walkerhill Hotel is operated by SK Networks, an affiliate of SK Group. It’s been reported that Min-jeong has confirmed the wedding date, completed the wedding photoshoot, and is currently sending out invitations to friends and family.

Her fiancé is a graduate of both Harvard University and Stanford University. He is currently running a startup related to software that he founded. In addition, he has served in the U.S. Marine Corps and has experience working with U.S. Forces Korea (USFK).

Min-jeong, who graduated from Peking University, made headlines in 2014 as the first daughter of a ‘chaebol’ (a large family-owned business conglomerate) family to voluntarily enlist as a candidate for the Navy.

After being commissioned as a second lieutenant, she served on the ROKS Yi Sun-sin of the Cheonghae Unit and participated in the Gulf of Aden anti-piracy mission.

In 2019, she joined SK Hynix as an assistant manager but took a leave of absence in 2022 to work with a U.S. medical startup and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Recently, she co-founded Integral Health, an AI-based healthcare startup. The company partners with U.S. healthcare institutions to provide health management programs.
