Seoul Children's Grand Park, a family recreational complex in the capital, will be remodeled to mark its 50th anniversary.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government on Thursday announced plans to renovate the park by 2025.
It opened in 1973 in Neung-dong as Korea's first children's park, and the city wants to renovate its old facilities including a botanical garden, trails and eco-ponds to better accommodate children and families.
An indoor playground will be newly built so that children can visit the park to play even in cold weather or on days with high fine dust levels. The project is part of the city's plans to build indoor playgrounds in some 55 parks across the city.
